It really has been a while since I’ve converted some of my old tutorials to the new site or even write post (which I don’t think I’ve actually had a non tutorial related post). Well things will be changing around here. I will have more free time now and have lots of plans. Firstly what I want to do is complete the layout. I have an unused 3rd column down there at the bottom which I have to figure out what to put in it. I also want to fix he appearance of the navigation menu with the categories and search. I honestly whipped that together fairly quickly. In essence it gets the job done however not what I originally planned and can look a lot more sleek. As well I just found out that the darn google ad sense was way out of the box. So I reduced the height and made it fit. I’ll be honest, the design of that box wasn’t intentional for Ads, however I didn’t have any other content so I threw it in there as a filler until I have a better purpose for the box. The reason it took me so long to figure it out is I usually view my website from my desktop, which has a premade hosts file with a giant list of common ad company DNS and more, one of those is google ad sense. So the box is always blank. After looking at the site on my new laptop (which doesn’t have the hosts file), I noticed it ran way out of the height and that just looks sloppy. So I quickly fixed that. Also a comment was posted a few months ago that in IE the footer is a bit messed up. Now when I originally designed the site I was pretty sure to check it in firefox and IE6. However I don’t believe I have checked anything in IE 7.
I am also in the process of writing a post about my thoughts on the EEE PC. I have had one for about a month now and am enjoying it quite thoroughly. I also am planning to write a ‘how to’ post about the ultimate EEE PC setup. Of course it ultimate in my opinion however you can decide how well it fits your needs.
*EDIT* Ha, and I just noticed that if a post doesn’t have an image, it will still show the image border and the alt text. Another thing to fix. Yay!
